AVRIAH PASTEL STUDY by JALpix AVRIAH PASTEL STUDY by JALpix
The last of a series of four portraits of DA member Avriah. As the title implies I used the soft pastel brushes in Corel Painter.

Beautiful portrait. I'm impressed you did it in corel painter, It looks like a traditional work, I didn't think a corel software would allow you to do something this realistic.

Thank you! Painter's really good once you get into it and it's perhaps getting better with every upgrade. A lot it has to do with the backroom controls and settings, learning them can become tedious and frustrating(something that can easily be said about Photoshop too...) but the results are sometimes worth the time and effort!:):)

Yes it's always a lot of work to get used to a new software. Also I'm using a very old version of Corel Draw so it might be the reason I relly don't like it ! ;)

Corel draw? that's a vector drawing program. If you go to Corel's official website you can download a full working version of Corel Painter 12 for a 1 month trial. It's really worth doing if your'e serious! :)

Oh that's why your not getting any textures, the software needs to be raster based. Download it, you'll love it!:)
